Cdk5/p25, active



CDK5 is a member of the Cyclin-Dependent Kinase family that is most abundant in the mammalian brain. This recombinant product is a complex of human Cdk5 and C-terminal His-tagged C-terminal p25 fragment of human p35, and was expressed in Sf9 insect cells by baculovirus.


10mM MOPS (pH6.8), 0.1M NaCl, 1mM MgCl2, 0.5% Nonidet P-40, 1mM DTT, 10% glycerol, 0.4mM Pefabloc, 1 μM E64.

Specific Activity

500 U/mg, where one unit of cdk5/p25 activity is defined as 1 nmol phosphate incorporated into 0.1 mg/ml Histone H1 per minute at 35 degrees with a final ATP concentration of 100 μM.
