要旨

Most of the common culture media for growth and expansion of stem cells as well as primary cells are typically supplemented with serum or other xenogenic compounds. The quality of the culture medium and its performance as well as other auxiliary solutions (for attachment, cryopreservation and dissociation) are particularly crucial with regard to therapeutic applications, since cell characteristics can be significantly affected by medium components and culture conditions.
A defined serum-free (SF), xeno-free (XF) culture systems optimized for pluripotent stem cells, mesenchymal stem cells and endothelial cells were developed to facilitate the application of robust, clinically accepted cell culture process for cell therapy and tissue engineering.

幹細胞の成長・増殖用に使用される培地は、プライマリー細胞などの培養に使われる一般的な培地と同様に、血清や異種動物由来の成分が含まれているものがいまだに多く使用されています。培養された幹細胞の品質や特徴は、培地成分や培養条件により大きく影響を受けるため、培地や関連試薬（細胞接着因子、凍結保存培地、および細胞剥離液）の品質やパフォーマンスは、臨床用途での細胞培養プロセスにおいて特に重要な要素となります。

本セミナーでは、多能性幹細胞、間葉系幹細胞、血管内皮細胞などの幹細胞を使用した細胞治療研究、および組織工学研究を促進するために開発・最適化された、血清フリー & ゼノフリーの細胞培養用培地及び関連試薬についてご紹介致します。
