背景

12(S)-HETE とは

HETE とは、リポキシゲナーゼ（lipoxygenase）によるアラキドン酸の代謝により生じる副産物です。12(S)-HETE はアラキドン酸が12-リポキシゲナーゼにより 12(S)-ヒドロペルオキシテトラエン酸（12(S)-HpETE）となり、これが還元されることで生成されます。12(S)-HETEは、多形核白血球や血管平滑筋細胞に対して走化性を持つことや、アルドステロンの合成に関与することが知られています。

15-ヒドロキシエイコサテトラエン酸（15(S)-HETE）は、15-リポキシゲナーゼの作用により合成されます。15(S)-HETE は平滑筋や肺好中球動員のパラクリン調節因子として作用し、15(S)-HETE 値の上昇は喘息、鼻炎、慢性副鼻腔炎および関節リウマチなどの疾患に関連があると言われています。
