背景

HSP27（Heat Shock Protein 27）とは、αB-クリスタリンを含む低分子熱ショックタンパク質（small heat shock proteins：sHsp）に分類されます。これらは共通して C 末端に α-クリスタリンドメインを持ち、オリゴマーの形成を促進させ、タンパク質凝集阻害剤として機能します。

Hsp27 のオリゴマー化は、様々なプロテインキナーゼ（MAPKAPK-3、PKAc-α、p70 S6K、PKD I、PKC-δを含む）により、翻訳後の3つのセリン残基（Ser15、Ser78、Ser82）のリン酸化によって調節されます。

Hsp27 は、リン酸化されていない Hsp27 モノマーがアクチン中間径フィラメントへ結合することで、アクチンの重合を阻害することが報告されています。Hsp27 の抗アポトーシス機能は、DAXX7 との相互作用、Akt の活性化、アポトーシス形成の阻害によっても同定されています。
