背景

IGF-1（Insulin-like growth factor-1）とは、中枢神経系や末梢神経系において神経細胞の成長や発達を促進するペプチドホルモンで、インスリンによく似た構造を持ちます。 IGF-1 は神経細胞ではアポトーシスの強力な阻害剤として機能し、IGF-1R やインスリン受容体を介して Akt シグナル伝達経路を活性化します。

IGF-1や IGF-2 が IGF-1R に結合することで、IGF-1R のチロシン残基がリン酸化されシグナルが下流へと伝達されることが知られています。
