背景

Azidothymidine（AZT）について

Azidothymidine（AZT）は、脳浸透性かつ経口投与可能な逆転写酵素阻害剤で、DNA polymerase α への作用に対して HIV逆転写酵素に 100倍の選択性を有します。HIV-1複製を抑制し、 HIV-1感染T細胞株における細胞生存率を高めます。また、多発性骨髄腫（MM：multiple myeloma）細胞株の増殖を抑制し、マウスでのMM 腫瘍の異種移植片の成長を低下させます。

最近の研究では、Azidothymidine（AZT）はヒト人工多能性幹細胞（iPS細胞）、および他の細胞種においてCRISPR-Cas9によるNHEJを介した遺伝子ノックアウトを促進することが報告されています
